just2deal Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 In USA it is called CD (certificate of Deposit) ..you will get max 1 % to 1.5% interest per year If you want more interest you can open a NRE account India and deposit in India ..you will get around 9 % interest per anum. The only draw back is you have to open a rupee deposit and risk of currency rate fluctuation or You can open a US$ fixed deposit (foreign currency fixed deposit or FCNR Dep)in India too but the rate is low compared to INR deposit..it s around 3%
