 If God were to appear one day, either Lord Rama or Lord Krishna, how would you picture him in your head? The answer from any Andhrite would be definitely Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao, the legendary actor and a phenomenon in Telugu cinema, known for his godly portrayal of Lord Rama and Krishna. He never confined himself to heroic roles, as he equally portrayed the roles of Asuras like Ravana, Keechaka in addition to other great epic roles of Karna, Bheema, Arjuna etc. His versatility knows no bounds. Just a piece of writing won’t be enough to talk about his contribution to Telugu cinema. So, let’s know specifically about the very first things in his life.

 

- NTR’s first film as an actor, which gave him his first chance to act was Mana Desam (1949).

- NTR’s first film, which made him a hero was Palleturi Pilla (1950).

- His first film in which he draped the getup of 'Lord Krishna' was Sontha Ooru (1956).

- His first film as 'Lord Rama' was Sampoorna Ramayanam (1971).

- His first film as the ten-headed 'Ravana' was Bhukailas (1958).

- His first film where he portrayed both the characters of 'Rama' and 'Ravana' was 
  Sri Rama Pattabhishekam (1978).

- His first film as 'King Dhushyanta' was Sakuntala (1966).

- His first film as the mighty 'Bheema' was Pandava Vanavasam (1965)

- His first mythological film was Maya Rambha (1950), where he portrayed the character of 
  'Nalakubara'.

- Also, Tollywood’s first Color Cinema was of NTR ’s. It was the blockbuster Lavakusa (1963),in which
  he excelled in the character of 'Lord Rama'.

- A moment of pride for Tollywood for the first time in 1952, when NTR ’s Pathaala Bhairavi (1951) 
  was selected at the 1st International film festival.

- It was NTR ’s film Shavukaru (1971)to be the first from Vijaya Productions.

- The terrific trio N.T.R, A.N.R and Sivaji Ganesan together acted for the first time in 
  Bhaktha Rama Das (1964).

 

Finally the legendary actor NTR was the first ever hero of Tollywood to be called "A SUPER STAR”. Well, that is so obvious, isn’t it?
