Chennai is close to coastal area..

bangalore is close to rayalaseema. .

but there are a lot of rich and influential Rs in chennai who stayed their after partition and interior TN has a lot of R known as Reddiars..

wrong..my relatives live in chennai and vallani choodataaniki summer holidays lo vellinappudu choosevaadini.. there are a lot of Rs in the city.. some of the main apartment buildings and shopping complexes area owned by/named after Rs. Like gundu said tamil people by default call telugu people as reddy gaaru.. may be your circle is all Cs..

RC's sangathi telidhu kaani.. Majority of telugus in Chennai are daily wage labourers... recently bhaiyyas from North have outnumbered them.

 

so a more interesting question is, why are more telugu daily wage earners more in number in Chennai than in Bangalore..

kannada can be learned in 1 month as the script is similar...whereas tamil is harder to learn,read,wright....
