naaku telisina anta varaku.. handles are basically like a lock that a process places on a file within the windows file system.. for example edaina process run chestunnavu anuko and it requires to use some files and place a lock on them so that no other process modifies it, it does so and windows calls it as a handle.. this is just one type of handle.. handles section on the top specifies the total number of handles that are being used by processes in your processes section

commit(gb) is the amount of virtual memory being utilized by all open processes

oh thanks a lot

somehow able to cop-up  with handles now but coming to Commit(gb) how come the virtual memory gets created?

I mean on what basis? does it depend on the the OS we use or with respective to RAM we own?

correct me if am wrong, so if RAM memory completely used, OS tries to manage to save temp in Virtual memory till RAM gets free??

right?? (am not sure at all though)

No Idea

read couple of online documents but made no use

  • aaa kernal memory paging endho kuda ardhamai savaataley - how will that work ani

Let say you computer Actual memory is 2GB ( 2GB RAM) and you are running application/processes that are consuming more than 2GB. In such cases O.S will swap the contents that are unused/IDLE process from the virtual memory to Physical memory (Which is a page file that resides in our C drive). Malli manam eppuduina a process ne use chesthe it will get it from the page file that is located on drive (C or D). Usually pagesing is not good, endukante vitual memory aithe chala fast ga untundi.. paging or swapping ante vitual memory nundi contants physical memory ke move chesthhde OS during memory contingency. So, it like a text file on our drive, ikkada undi data retive chese process chala slow ga untundi.  Usually a page size 1.5 time greater than our RAM size, RAM 2GB aithe mana page file okkate 3GB size lo untundi. So, even mana computer RAM size 2GB anna it can go to up to 2GB (Vitual mamory)+ 3 GB  (Physical memory) page file .

Virtual memory is our RAM before paging, what we see in our system config. in your case it is 8GB ,  Page file is Physical Memory

nee laptop lo page file ekkada undo chudali ante follow this link
