ICANWIN Posted February 7, 2014 Report Posted February 7, 2014 H1 Extn stamped on Tuesday in Jamaica Past H1 Information : Stamped in Vancouver , Canada on 12/2012 H1 period ( Jan 2011 - Jan 2014) Bench mida stamped as job poyindi 5 days before stamping Present Experience: Now because of prev experience went to Jamaica as soon as I got Extn approved as I have all docs in hand and do not want to postpone like last time . H1 Extn applied on Jan 2nd 2014 . Approved on 9th Jan 2014 . Immediately blocked slot in Jamaica on 4 th Feb 2014. Was supposed to fly on Saturday but flight canceled and went on Sunday . My cousin sister and another couple also came with me . At airport gate we saw almost 10 guys having visa on Tuesday and they were living in some other hotel .We reached Jamaica at 7:30 pm . On arrival visa 5 mins Lo vachindi . We booked cab at airport and went to Spanish Court Hotel . Though it's expensive and Almost 200$ a night ( orbitz Lo 180$ a night vachindi .. If u book early u may get better deal )we preferred it as two women were coming with us and cannot take chances with them. Night ate there in the hotel which had restaurant. Though it's expensive it had pool , spa , gym and restaurant with amazing service and free breakfast . Really worth the price . Spa services are cheaper than us . Next day we went to Fort Clarence beach and had fun . On visa appt all of us had around 9:30 am and we we're asked to stand in line where they are checking DS 160 and pinning picture and i797 to passport and asking to enter consulate . Don't please take phones there are no lockers and road side people will keep your phone for 5$ each which is not worth . After entering consulate passing through security check there is a common area where left and right side 100 each chairs unnayi. We were asked to sit there on right side and 20 people each were sent inside . Ikkada after entering oka reception undi akkada they will give u one number and staple to DS 160 confirmation and will ask u to go to next door . Ikkada actual counters are there with three groups A B And C We were asked to sit in B block and sit there according to out numbers . There were 5 counters here which are for finger printing . We gave it and they asked to go out and sit . Last time during entering we sat in left side now we sat in right side . Ikkada wait time is atleast 20 mins and they are allowing 50 people each again to same room where we took finger printing but in A group . Now we went inside and sat and 5 each were asked to stand in line to send to 5 counters . My interview : VO :Good morning Me: Good Morning !! VO: who is your employer ? Me : told VO: Where is his office ? Me: XYZ VO: how long would you stay in US? Me: 3 years (as my h1 Extn is approved for 3 years ) VO: when are you leaving back to states ? Me: XYZ VO : pick your passport at consulate on Friday after 2 pm and gave a slip Me: sure . Do you need my old passport to cancel previous visa printing canceling without prejudice ? VO : I know we do for change of visa but not sure in this case . Let me check . She went and asked something and came back saying I don't need your previous visa or passport . Me. Oh Ok thanks ! Came out with my other friends and cousin who were also approved without being asked a single document . Came to know other Indian guys who came in same flight are also approved but do not know their experience . Today they went to get passport as they were asked to pickup on Thursday I went too but they didn't let me inside as I was supposed to come to tomorrow but I gave slip to my cousin and she asked inside and got my passport too. Cabs vallu dochestaru if we don't bargain . 1st day we went to tamarind Indian restaurant which is walkable from consulate for 15 $ return Lo we came for 5$ . Today we went to consulate for 4$ but next street ki we went to cab for 5$ for restaurant so bargain for half price . For people who want Indian food this restaurant is too good . Panasa pallu , mangoes , Jamaican Apple and badam chetlu , kobbari bondam anni available . Very sweet try if you are interested :) Downside of stamping in Jamaica : expensive compared to canada . 30$ food ki vade 7$ tax vesukuntunnadu :( Adi sangathi . Thanks to vishwamitra for guidance .. Don't miss ocho rios it's awesome and has all water sport activities . Having lived in Florida for 3 yrs I say beaches here are best . There are very scenic and terrific . Tomorrow planning for negril and Montego Bay :) Panasa pallu , mangoes , Jamaican Apple and badam chetlu , kobbari bondam anni available .
