Bhayya, we hav to respect talent .. even if its in vedas, it req lot of talent to recreate it. Wright bros made it work. Plz dont underestimate their effort and talent.

I accept... just like Steve Jobs created a smart phone (which was already there) ... but taking credit for the invention and keeping it in something like Smithsonian Museum.. come on !

nuv maree mayya ... India lo hardware tayaru cheyyatam eppudaina vinnava asalu ? Solar power antha German technology

solar power patents max GE ki unnayi. Alstom german comapany 1/4th mathramey alternate energy lo

Wind Installations continued to grow in 2012 while investments in R &D for wind energy have resulted in technological advances in the last few years including those related to large off shore turbines, new vessels for installing off shore machines, and new ways to transport large blades on dry land according to Renewable Energy World here.  Further innovations have occurred  in both low and  high speed turbines, and technologies that reduce operations and maintenance costs, among other technologies as described.

Some of the Key wind players have also been big patent players while others not so much….. The companies profiled by Renewable Energy World are presented below along with their 2012 U.S. Wind Patent totals according to the Clean Energy Patent Growth Index.  As indicated, GE dominated the 2012 rankings having over 2 1/2 times the Wind patents as its nearest 2012 rival Vestas.   Mitsubishi and Siemens took third and fourth place in 2012,  while Gamesa and  Nordex made respectable showings.   LM, Enercon and Alstom also scored patents in 2012.

A2SEA – 0 patents

Siemens – 44 patents

Hochtief – 0 patents

Areva – 0 patents

HGO – 0 patents

GeoSea – 0 patents

Vestas – 64 patents

Acciona – 0 patents

Alstom – 1 patent

Eole Generation GDF SUEZ Group – 0 patents

GE – 154 patents

LM – 10

Enercon – 6 patents

Sinovel – 0 patents

Nordex – 13 patents

Gamesa – 20 patents

Goldwind – 0 patents

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries – 52 patents

Mita-Teknik – 0 patents

AMSC – 5 patents

Suzlon – 1 patent

As will be evident from the patent  totals, the big wind turbine manufacturers must be dumping quite a bit of their earnings into R & D while the offshore wind turbine installers are likely not investing so much.  Some of the manufacturers, such as GE, are deep into R &D and patenting while others, such as Enercon, are introducing new products but appear to be investing less in protecting their intellectual property or are not as innovative despite the introduction of new machines.

As reported here by Renewable Energy World, the U.S. wind industry set records in 2012 providing a third of all new generating capacity in the U.S, second only to natural gas.  GE dominated US installations, mirroring its wind patent lead, and was followed by Siemens.  This growth in installations can only lead to more investments in R & D and a bright future for wind technologies.
