Woman Blackmailed And Raped By Boyfriend

SURAT: A 24-year-old woman was allegedly blackmailed and raped by her boyfriend for six months promising marriage in Parnera of Valsad. The victim was blackmailed and forced to run away a day after her marriage by the accused and he raped her for seven months.

Police booked Tushar Patel for allegedly raping the victim when she stayed with him since May 2013 in an apartment. The victim had an affair with the accused since many months but he was not ready for marriage with the victim.

Following family pressure the victim agreed for arranged marriage. She married to a youth in Valsad on May 20, 2013.

The victim had come to her father's house for rituals on following day of her marriage when Patel met her and forced her to come with him. The victim refused to go with Patel after which she was blackmailed showing a video clip. Patel had captured video of few private moments with the victim on his mobile. Patel threatened the victim to make the video public if she doesn't follow his instructions.

The victim went along with Patel and stayed in an apartment till January 2014. Initially, Patel had promised marriage. The victim pressurised Patel to get married but he never did. Following repetitive demand Patel took the victim to his residence where Patel's family members threatened her to kill if she married Patel. Later, Patel discontinued relation with the victim. On being deserted, the victim lodged complaint against the accused.
