Moin Khan, the former Pakistan captain, has been named the new head coach of the national side. Moin will replace Dav Whatmore, whose contract expires this month. The decision was taken at an interim, eight-member management committee meeting, a day after PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf was dismissed and the board of governors dissolved.

Moin had been appointed team manager before the tour to Zimbabwe in August 2013 but had recently been replaced by Zakir Khan

Aamer Sohail was removed as chief selector after being appointed only last week. He will be replaced by former Pakistan cricketer Azhar Khan, who will head an interim selection committee. Sohail has been given the position of director, game and development in the board.

Among the other decisions taken at the meeting, the committee endorsed Mohammad Akram's two-year contract as Pakistan's bowling coach.
