More power to the aam janta; Delhi cabinet may take up Swaraj Bill

bill details next post

Feb 11: The Aam Aadmi Party's Swaraj Bill, aimed at decentralising power to grassroots by setting up 'mohalla sabhas", is likely to be discussed at a meeting of Delhi cabinet on Wednesday. Senior government officials had held a meeting on Sunday and finalised the modalities of Swaraj Bill which intends to put in place mohalla sabhas where power would be given to the common people to solve problems at the local level. "A meeting of 25 secretaries from various departments took place to hold discussion on Swaraj Bill," Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said. Former chief secretary of Madhya Pradesh S C Behar, who has been entrusted with the responsibility to draft Swaraj Bill, said "the draft is in its final stage. We have received advice from all the concerned government departments in this regard." Seeking to dispel the fear that AAP members will take over mohalla sabhas, Behar said "under the Bill, mohalla sabhas are being made strong. However, it is not that party members will take their control.

okay forget goondas.

lets refer to them as conglomerates. The kind of conglomerates that infest India are not into manufacturing and value addition, even in the chemical industry. All they do is provide service. Tata's most profitable arm is TCS. Reliance is venturing into internet, and all such crap.

Have they atleast improved any infrastructure in India? like forming clusters for food production, port activities? Nothing. Then what's the point of still sucking up to them?

I said I prefer conglomerates like Samsung, etc than Tata, Reliance who have for over 50 yrs not brought India into the next level of production.

They have used their influence for all the wrong reasons, unlike Samsung which has managed to create a great manufacturing base in Korea along with other such conglomerates.

Let these conglomerates be attacked by all anarchists. Let them die. Hopefully better and technological conglomerates rise from its ashes.

Its not Reliance's right to mine gas and sell it at whatever price he wants. If you call that being a businessman, Kejri is right to question the legality of such an act.

you have a point about these companies not opening up the manufacturing sector in india . i dont oppose it .

but more than these conglomerates i think the government is the one that has to be blamed  ,, company owner eppudaina em chesthadu ? he'll make the best use of the resources and will take the easiest of the paths to make money ,, veelu adey chesaru.

look at gujarat , manufacturing industry is thriving there ,, because its comparatively very easy to setup a manufacturing industry there

end of the day what i want to say is wee need leaders with a vision like Modi not some stupid anarchists with communist ideologies ,

yeah, govt is more powerful than corporates in India. oppukunta. Indaaka nenu adhe chepthunna okadiki ikkada.

That's why we need someone who can arm twist govt into reviewing labour laws, use his money and influence to improve production and technology in India.

Gujarat, Modi is an outlier. It can't be replicated in AP for eg. How many of those who consider themselves millionaires now just because they own pieces of land near Vij, Vizag, will be ready to give up their land for industrial purpose at 1/10th the cost?

Guj is mostly waste land. AP is not so.

You say we need leaders like Modi. But I think we need better businessmen, stronger and smarter than Ambani and co.

Just read about how businessmen like Rockefeller, Ford, Carnegie bent rules and bribed US govt, changed the country. Eventually settled down with foundations.

Our conglomerates sound like pussies in comparison.
