Satya made his debut in the media as a reporter and news reader for a cable TV channel before joining TV9's anchor team in early 2006. As a reporter and anchor, he has a job that demands two contrasting qualities: the excitability of a reporter, the cool of an anchor. The anchor�s adrenalin really flows when an exciting story has broken out. "Sometimes, the tension can get intense," says Satya. "You have to balance multiple narrative tracks: there's a story break coming in' a reporter is on the phone, there's a studio guest going on too long and the producer is talking to you on the talkback' all at the same time. And you've got to be calm. I think I have the best job in the world."

No wonder Satya says he admires Nik Gowing, the BBC anchorman, for telling the story with the least fuss.
