Joint capital move drives student to suicide

 

WARANGAL: Depressed over the Telangana bill making provision for Hyderabad as joint capitalfor 10 years, a 20-year-old polytechnic studentcommitted suicide here on Wednesday evening. He left a suicide note saying that he was forced to end his life as the Centre had failed to give Telangana without any conditions attached to it.

Pilli Giri Babu, a native of Nalgonda, stayed at a hostel in Warangal. On Tuesday evening, he came out of his classroom, poured petrol over his body and set himself on fire.

Students and teachers rushed to save him, but received 80 per cent burns. He was shifted toMGM hospital where he died a few moments later.

Giri Babu before coming out of classroom sent an SMS to his friends "Hyderabad ummadi rajadhani vaddu, puurti Telangana kaavali" (We do not accept 10 years joint capital. We need Telangana without conditions).

Giri Babu was a native of Mukundapuram village of Miryalaguda in Nalgonda district.
