Sr.Software Engineer Cloud Tools...

 

Responsibilities:

• Build mission critical infrastructural tools and services with the ultimate goal of making scalability, availability and security easy
• Work closely with operations and product teams to understand requirements and translate them to elegant solutions
• Act as an expert and advocate for the importance of tools and services at the intersection of engineering and operations
• Stay up to date with state-of-the-art technology such as Docker and Mesos and understand how and when they can be folded into our tools and services.

 

Requirements:

• Expert level Python experience
• Strong experience building scalable, high quality distributed services
• Strong understanding of the importance of tools and automation to make cloud services scale
• Strong experience with Amazon Web Services and other public cloud providers
• Experience with automation frameworks such as Chef and Puppet
• Strong experience working in Linux based environments
• Familiarity with OpenStack or other private cloud solutions is a plus
• Experience leveraging or contributing to open source projects is a plus
• Excellent communication and written skills
• 7+ years experience in server-side, cloud development
• BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical field

Requirements:

• Expert level experience with Java programming languages

• Experience with JVM (Java Virtual Machine)

• Scala experience is a huge plus

• Extensive experience building scalable, high quality distributed services

• Strong experience with Amazon Web Services and other cloud providers

• Experience with open source technologies such as MongoDB, Cassandra, Akka and the Play! Framework

• Solid understanding of techniques to achieve high performance at web scale

• Strong dev/ops mentality with an understanding of what it takes to achieve high availability

• Strong experience with NoSQL databases and relational data stores

• Experience leveraging or contributing to open source projects

• Passion for building high quality software with extensive experience in unit testing and test driven development

• Solid understanding of software design and patterns

• Experience with Python is a plus
