Laptop lo oka WEB server(oka site anukondi ) run avuthundhi .. I want to access that server with in my local internet.. Like I want to access that site in my Ipad connected to home wifi ..

Yes, you need to set your router to forward connections to port 80 to your local IP address (192.168.1.123). Look for Port Forwarding on your router admin screen which I would imagine you access by going to http://192.168.1.1

Keep in mind that your ISP may block port 80 completely in which case you can run your web server on a different port (for example por 8180) and have your router forward connections to port 8180 to your internal IP.

To access your server from outside, you just need to point your browser to your external IP address which you can find out by going to http://www.ipchicken.com

nee yenkii main server oka ip ni acces cheyaali ante vaalu nee system oka ip adress ki vadu admin gadu permission evvalli appude acces cheyavasthadhi lekuntee  u can tacces it man !!

you need to externalize (make it available on internet) your local url....

 

learn more about externalization wrt your configuration....

same network lo unte you should be able to type in http : // laptop_ip_address:webserver_port_num/other_part_of_url  .. for example from within your laptop nuvvu localhost petti access chestu unte, localhost badalu you can plug in the IP address

I did it this afternoon ... this is very simple .. IIS(port 80) and tomcat(8080) both are running on my machine.. 

 

Used my ip address instead of localhost.. but im able to open any site that is on IIS but on apache ..

 

So I found that port 80 should be utilized instead of apache's 8080 

 

So I have changed port number for IIS from 80 to some other random number and opened server.XML in apache and changed port number to 80 .

 

Here you goo .. I can access my web site from ipad, iphone etc.... :)
