United States: DOL PERM Processing Times Updated, Confirm Slowdowns in PWDs – As of February 5, 2014, DOL was conducting initial review of PERM applications filed in June 2013 or earlier and processing audited cases filed November 2012 or earlier. The government error queue is current. DOL is working on standard reconsideration requests with an appeal date of February 2014 but continues to process older reconsideration requests.

Processing times for PERM prevailing wage determinations (PWDs) now exceed the 60-day target. Affected entities report 10- to 12-week processing times for PWDs. DOL is now issuing determinations for prevailing wage requests submitted in late November 2013.

United States: Implication of Increased LCA Filings for FY 2015 H-1B Cap Season – DOL released statistics regarding the Labor Condition Application (LCA) Program for the first quarter of FY 2014. LCA filings are up 10 percent and the number of LCAs processed is up about 20 percent from the first quarter of FY 2013. The increase in LCA filings is a useful indicator for H-1B employers that the cap will likely be reached during the first five business days of April this year. Employers should therefore obtain LCAs well in advance, especially given the ongoing intermittent technical issues with the iCERT system that is used to submit LCAs.

last year total 124k h1b petitons....so overall LCA's 150K anukunna...
