సీమాంధ్ర అభివృద్ధికి బీజేపీ ఎలాంటి డిమాండ్‌ చేయలేదని కేంద్ర మంత్రి జైరాం రమేష్‌ వెల్లడించారు. సీమాంధ్రకు ప్రత్యేక ప్యాకేజీ ఇవ్వాలని ప్రధానమంత్రిని సోనియా గాంధీయే కోరారని చెప్పారు. ప్రధానమంత్రి ప్రకటించిన ప్యాకేజీలన్ని 1973లో ఇందిరాగాంధీ ప్రవేశపెట్టినవేనని తెలిపారు. రాష్ట్ర విభజన ప్రక్రియ రాజ్యాంగబద్ధంగానే జరిగిందని సమర్థించుకున్నారు.

రానున్న ఐదేళ్లలో కేంద్ర నిధులతో సీమాంద్ర జిల్లాలు బాగా అభివృద్ధి చెందుతాయని విశ్వాసం వ్యక్తం చేశారు. ఆర్టికల్‌ 371డిలో ఎలాంటి మార్పు లేదని జైరాం రమేష్‌ స్పష్టం చేశారు. సీమాంధ్ర అభివృద్ధి కట్టుబడి ఉన్నామని తెలిపారు. విశాఖ నుంచి చెన్నై వరకు పారిశ్రామిక కారిడార్, కడప జిల్లాలో స్టీల్ ప్లాంట్ ఏర్పాటు చేస్తామన్నారు.
