'PM candidate' is just a tag. It means nothing constitutionally. Finally, its not the people who elect PM, but the MPs.

 

I agree that CM is an executive position, and him being away campaigning and neglecting his duties in Gujarat is not good.

 

But this is India we are talking about. That someone's touring the entire country urging people to vote for his party itself sounds a bit silly. That is not how parliamentary democracy is supposed to work.

 

So we forgive Modi, given his awesomeness, and for the sake of Hindutva.
