The United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facility at Terminal 3 in Abu Dhabi Airport is a purpose-built facility that allows U.S. bound passengers to undertake all immigration, customs and agriculture inspections in Abu Dhabi prior to departure.

 

Abu Dhabi Airport is one of only a handful of airports outside North America that offer the CBP facility. Having cleared CBP, guests can check-through their baggage to their final destination in the United States. On reaching the U.S., guests will be treated as domestic arrivals, which allows for faster processing at their arrival airport.

 

Etihad Airways currently operates flights to three destinations in the U.S. - New York (EY101 only), Chicago (EY151) and Washington (EY131). Guests flying to above destinations in the U.S. will use the CBP facility at Abu Dhabi Airport.

yes i had US pre-clearance immigration last week...

 

i am on H1B .. this is my 4th entry to US ..first three times they never asked me to show any documentation like 797 , w2 , offer letter etc.. every time they just asked me which location and what is name of employer .. first okkasari they asked me client name thats it.. everytime less than 2 minutes

 

but in dubai .. he asked me questions for 6-7 minutes .. he asked for 797 , lca , why u r coming and going ? , deputation letter , are you applying extension or not? any extension is in pending? etc

 

after coming to US .. just came out in 10 minutes ..no customs or immigration.. happy..

 

but in flight   a telugu aunty travelling with 1 year kid.. shared her bitter experience .. she is in EAD status .. she got EAD as a depandendt .. came to india after 3 years and travelling back.. they asked her how you got EAD status ? and asked for differnt papers.. aunty ki uncle cheppi vundademo .bebba .. they sent her to 2nd clearance ..buy the time every thing got cleared .. flight left ..  she told every day atleast 20 people are getting stayed to dubai.. due to delay in immigration / in coming flight delays etc..
