Special Package Only To 7 Districts(4 Rayalaseema, 3 Coastal Andhra)

In a big setback to successor state of Andhra Pradesh, Union Government has did a volte-face. Contrary to previous statements of special package to Seemandhra, Centre has now limited special package only to 7 districts of residuary state. According to Union Minister Jairam Ramesh, the special developmental package will be allotted to 4 districts of Rayalaseema and 3 districts of Coastal Andhra (i.e North-coastal Andhra).

The other districts of Andhra Pradesh- Nellore, Prakasam, Guntur, Krishna (Vijayawada), East and West Godavari districts- which are also underdeveloped are not going to get any package. Even now, Centre has not declared how much amount it is going to shell out. We hear the special package will be on the lines of K-B-K Plan (Koraput-Bolangir-Kalahandi) in Odisha and the Bundelkhand special package in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Above all, how much of amount sanctioned is actually be rightly used without wastage?

In another big jolt, Jairam Ramesh said the tax incentives will only be given to newly established firms. So, people has to pay all their taxes as usual. Common man is not going to be benefited in any way- not even any discounts. Meanwhile, the special status is confined to very short period of 5 years which is highly insufficient. 

Earlier PM Manmohan Singh has made a statement in Rajya Sabha that a financial package will be given to Seemandhra. Now, Congress backtracked its decision by saying that's only limited to Rayalaseema and Utharandhra. It's visibly clear that Centre is taking revenge against Seemandhra in one way or the other way.
