Kashmiri Students Suspended For Cheering For Pak In Indo-Pak Match

Sixty-seven Kashmiri students have been suspended by a Meerut university for cheering for Pakistan during Sunday's India-Pakistan match in the Asia Cup. The students have also been asked to return to their homes.

Meerut also saw protests against the students. Following this incident, PDP MLAs staged a walkout from the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on Tuesday to protest against the hostility faced by Kashmiris.

"There was chaos at the University after some students cheered for Pakistan. The police were asked for assistance in controlling the situation, which we provided," said MM Baig, SP, Rural.
