as far as my knowledge ..

 

client has the final say ...

 

for eg. if the client hiring manager can stand to the main vendor and say .. if we need to continue this long term business relation "make this transition happen" most likely vendor will not even think for a second and says sure!! vendors always wants to be in good terms with client..

 

 

the main vendor will usually play the same trick against desi consultencies and it will/should work.. nobody wants to loose a business relation over one resource

 

 

bottom line be open with the hiring manager and tell him before hand that your friend will need help with the transition and if he is a good guy he'll square it out with vendor
