There's no mathematical system that a quantum computer (even if its built) can use.

 

d-wave built an engineering marvel by isolating atoms, show entanglement in small groups and using advanced algorithms to make them compute something.

 

The scientists are mostly arguing that the way it computes is classical, not quantum mechanical.

 

Also the model itself is not scalable, unlikely to work for larger groups of atoms. 

 

My prediction.. Vancouver is the next silicon valley or Quantum alley :P
