VISAKHAPATNAM: With general elections around the corner, it is not just political pundits that have their hands full number-crunching to figure out the political permutations and combinations. Astrologers too are busy stargazing to predict the future of political parties and leaders in the fray.

 

Even as YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) are tipped to be the key contenders in the battle of the ballot to be fought in Telangana and Seemandhra regions on April 30 and May 7, respectively, astrologers predict a YSRCP victory in the Seemandhra region, comprising 13 districts, and a TRS sweep in Telangana, which has 10 districts. This despite political analysts strongly vouching for a TDP-led government in Seemandhra and a TRS ruled one in Telangana.

 

Renowned Vizag-based astrologist and general secretary of the Chennai-based International Astrological Science Congress, Acharya Ravvijji, who had earlier successfully made some predictions on the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, said that YSRCP was likely to come to power in Seemandhra region, while it would be TRS all the way in Telangana.

 

“After thoroughly studying the astrological charts of key political parties such as YSRCP, TDP, TRS, Congress and BJP based on the dates of their formation, YSRC and TRS look will most likely lead the two new states from June, as both these parties are enjoying ‘Raja Yoga’ currently. while TDP and Congress will have to slug it out in the opposition. Both YSRC and TRS currently have ‘Raja Yoga’, meaning they have bright chances to come to power,” said Ravvijji, whose predictions on the 2009 elections had also come true.

 

While YSRCP was born on March 11, 2011, at Jaggampeta in East Godavari district, TRS was born on April 27, 2001. According to Ravvijji, YSRCP would not only rule Seemandhra, its chief Jaganmohan Reddy would also play a crucial role in forming an alliance government at the Centre.

 

Even as the astrological alignment of stars predicts a bright future for YSRCP and TRS, the future is glum for parties like Congress and TDP, predicted astrologers. Astrologer PV Radhakrishna from Sri Medha Dakshinamurthy Jyothishalayam said that because of Sani Mahadasa, Congress would not be able to win the elections in the state and would see good times only after 2017.

 

“Bad days have been haunting TDP since 2004 and this run of bad luck will continue for a few more months. However, TDP will also play an active role at the Centre till 2017,” said another astrologist V Prabhakara Sarma from Gurudwara area in the city.

As far as the newly floated parties like Jai Samaikyandhra and Jana Sena are concerned, some astrologers pointed out that while their founders N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Pawan Kalyan had good chances of emerging victorious, the future of their parties was not so bright. “Though the founders of these parties will emerge winners, their parties will not be able to bag too many votes,” predicted lady astrologer P Jaya Maheswari.

 

Meanwhile, Dr VS Krishna Government Degree College lecturer and astrologist Nagamani Prasad Sarma is of the opinion that the 2014 elections will be fraught with violence in the state as the entire electoral process, right from the announcement of the schedule to the conduct of polls in both the regions, will be taking place in the ‘violence zone’, which began on March 2, 2014 and will end on May 24, 2014. “As the entire election process is happening in this violence zone period, stars foretell uncertainty in the elections and their results in the two regions of the state,” Sarma said.
