When Will Thaman Realize This?

Music director Thaman is in all high spirits now celebrating the presence of 'Race Gurram' in the top charts everywhere. From Radio stations to iTunes, online music portals to caller tunes, Race Gurram is topping the charts for sure. Will that make Thaman really great?

Of late, Thaman's music is losing its pep, melody and a signature, like the way it used to have during the times of Raviteja's Kick. Except impressing directors and heroes with his innovative background score, his songs are no more something anyone would plug into ears for years. Check any of Thaman's movies released recently, it is hard to recall at least one song from them. But when those albums released, even they too topped the charts. Moreover, Thaman's passion to give different sound to audiences is making him lose focus on delivering a proper tune first. Is it not Thaman?

The likes of AR Rahman and Ilayaraja are legendary because songs scored by them still reverberate in our ears even after decades. Though Thaman is celebrating these 'top charts', it's high time for him to realize that scoring a music that will stay in history forever is an essential thing to become a top class composer
