Following India’s 6-wicket defeat to Sri Lanka in the finals of the ICC World Cup Twenty20 on Sunday night, Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s Chandigarh residence was pelted with stones by angry fans, if reports by DNAIndia are to be believed.

City police immediately rushed to his house at the Manimajra locality to appease the crowd, thereby bringing back normality in the surroundings.

Although it is quite obvious that Yuvraj’s 21-ball 11 was the main reason behind India’s surrender to the Lankans – the knock not only affected India’s run rate but kept Kohli off the strike for the majority of the last 5 overs – this reaction appears to be way over the top. Batting first, India managed to score only 130 runs, which was chased down by the Lankans in 17.5 overs.

Apart from that solitary knock against Australia in a dead rubber, Yuvraj Singh has found the going extremely difficult, struggling to put bat to ball at times. This has been the case for the Southpaw ever since his return to international cricket.
