While drawing MUGGU(rangoli) one needs to bend down each morning.This helps in improving one's digestive system and keeps the body muscles active as the entire body is stretched.

The artist has to be very well focussed and requires full concentration while making me.It also improves mathematical skills.It is a matter of pride to be able to draw large complicated patterns without lifting the hand off the floor (or unbending to stand up).

The month before the harvesting season is much awaited by the young women.They showcase their skills and it is a test of mastery as they cannot repeat a pattern for 30 days.Patterns are passed from generation to generation.
