AP state form kakamundey Sagar project sanskustapana jarigindi. it was menat for TG only 19 km ahead ravali project kaani 19 km kindaki poindi. The proposal to construct a dam to use the excess waters of the Krishna river was planned by the British Engineers in 1903 on the supervision of Hyderabad Nizams. Since then, various competing sites in Siddeswaram, Hyderabad and Pulichintala were identified as the most suitable locations for the reservoirs. The perseverance of the Raja of Muktyala paved way for the site identification, design and construction of the dam. Project construction was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on 10 December 1955 and proceeded for the next twelve years. AP was formed in 1959************ AP was formed in 1956

tom bhayya Posted April 14, 2014 Report Posted April 14, 2014 Senior officers of KCP Cements, Macherla, paid rich tributes to Raja Vasireddy Ramagopala Krishna Maheswar Prasad, popularly known as Muktyala Raja, on his 96th birth anniversary at Nagarjuna Sagar on Thursday. The world’s tallest masonry dam named after Acharya Nagarjuna would not have been a reality but for the perseverance of Muktyala Raja, who took along with him the likes of Acharya N.G. Ranga, Moturi Satyanarayana, K.L. Rao, Vavilala Gopalakrishna, and took the initiative in constructing the dam across the Krishna. At a meeting held at the dam, senior vice-president of KCP Cements G.V.K. Prasad and vice-president S. Harinadha Babu paid floral tributes at the statue of Muktyala Raja. Later, they reminded the factory personnel of the stellar effort made by Raja in getting the dam constructed. Born at Mukyala village in Jaggaiahpet mandal on October 4, 1917, Raja got a road laid with the help of people in the thick forest to facilitate the visit of Dr. Bhosla and get the necessary clearances. Initially, Raja wanted the project to come up at Pulichintala, but later, considering the magnitude of the project, proposed Nagarjuna Sagar as the ideal site. Foundation stone for the project was laid on December 10, 1955, and it was opened in the year 1967. Muktyala Raja passed away on August 28, 1972, leaving behind a legacy of determination, hard work, and perseverance. He was the one who took the initiative in constructing Nagarjuna Sagar dam across the Krishna
