Balakrishna has history of depression

 

HYDERABAD: Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, cooling his heels in judicial custody at Nims after allegedly shooting two of his associates on June 3, was reportedly suffering from depression for the last one year. He was being treated in at least five hospitals in the city, besides Mumbai, Visakhapatnam and Rajasthan.

Nims director Kakarla Subba Rao invited doctors from the Institute of Mental Health, Erragadda, to study the psychological condition of the actor. Balakrishna's medical records were submitted to a team of doctors who examined the actor's mental condition.
"Even the records from Jodhpur hospital, where he was admitted after suffering the foot injury, also mentions treatment for a mental disorder.''

Doctors are relating the ankle fracture the actor suffered while shooting a film in Jodhpur to his depressed state of mind. "The X-ray reports show that Balakrishna's leg got twisted, ligaments ruptured resulting in bones protruding out of the skin. It is not possible for a normal person to jump from such a height. We suspect that his mental condition might have drove him to take such a risk,'' a doctor said.

Psychoanalysis of the actor revealed that Balakrishna was also suffering from 'manic' depression. Persons suffering from such a disorder would either be excited or completely withdrawn.

They might also get unusual anger.
