British Airways Passenger Gropes Sleeping Woman’S Breasts Mid-Flight

Prosecutors accuse Vinay Pochampally of slipping his hand underneath a sleeping woman’s shirt and touching her breasts for four to five minutes during a trip from London to San Francisco. The suspect was nabbed by cops at the San Francisco International Airport and charged with simple assault.

A British Airways passenger was jolted awake mid-flight by something much more disturbing than turbulence — she found a stranger fondling her breasts.The alleged assault happened April 15, two hours into Flight 285 from London to San Francisco, according a U.S. District Court criminal complaint.Prosecutors say Vinay Pochampally positioned himself in the gap between row 37, where the woman was sleeping, and the bulkhead, where the bathrooms are located.“While in that gap, Pochampally inserted his hand, palm-side down, into the shirt of the sleeping female passenger,” FBI Agent Bianca Betz said in court documents obtained by The News.The creep’s hand was “underneath the passenger’s shirt and undergarments for approximately four to five minutes, making skin-to-skin contact in the breast and upper chest area,” Betz continued.

 

When he realized his victim had woken up, Pochampally allegedly extracted his hand from her shirt and darted down the aisle.But there was nowhere to run. Witnesses told British Airways staff about what had happened. The attendants confronted Pochampally, who appeared to be intoxicated. They moved him to another seat, where he stayed for the rest o f the flight.Cops nabbed the man at San Francisco International Airport. He was charged with simple assault Tuesday and faces a maximum penalty of up to 6 months in jail.
