Anamika Review

Story :

 

NRI Anaamika (Nayantara) comes to Hyderabad in search of her missing husband Ajay Sasthri (Harshavardhan Rane). She lodges complaint in a police station of old city and starts staying in the same hotel where her husband stayed. She starts searching for her husband with the help of a cop Pardha Saradhi (Vaibhav). There is a minister (Naresh) who gets restless with Anaamika’s movements ands a couple of people whom Anaamika met during her search gets killed. The rest of the story is all about how Nayantara gets her mission fulfilled.

 

 

 

Performances:

 

 

Nayanatara got a challenging role and she has done commendable job. She was totally convincing in portraying the innocence, courage, helplessness and vengeance. Vaibhav was good in supporting role of Sub Inspector. Pashupathi was quite good as Office Khan but a known actor could have added much more value the character/movie. Harshavardhan Rane was adequate, Naresh was okay, Others were good in their roles.

 

 

Technical Departments:

 

Story-Screenplay-Direction : Shekar kammula has done some considerable changes to Kahani script to make sure that it doesn't look like a true copy. Screenplay is some what okay in the first half, searching scenes were alright but film moves on a slow pace and that's inevitable for that kind of narration. It is only in the second half it picks up the momentum and it maintains the same pace till the climax.  But kammula should have worked more on connecting the dots at the end explaining more details to get it understood by audience. 

 

 

Other Departments: Dialogues were neat and excellent in key scenes. Camera work by Vijay Kumar very good. Editing is alright. M M Keeravani's Background score is excellent. 

 

 

My Rating: 6/10

 

 

Analysis: Nayantara's performance  and engaging second half work well for Anamika. But more care on screenplay and a better/clear climax could have made it more effective.
