Slain TDP leader Paritala Ravi's elder son Sriram and 10 others has been taken into custody by Anantapur police in connection with clashes with YSR Congress activists in Allakuntla village in Kanaganapalli mandal on Wednesday. The district court ordered judicial remand to all of them till May 16th based on the non-bailable cases filed against them and Sriram was shifted to Dharmavaram jail. TDP activists launched protests all over the district. Police have tightened the security in sensitive areas to prevent any untoward incidents.

Responding to the arrest, Paritala Sunitha alleges the cases against her son were part of the conspiracy chalked out by political rivals. "Sriram is drawing huge crowds during his road shows. Especially, Youth have been curious to see the son of Paritala Ravi. Opponents who were jealous of his following have been targeting us for no reason. Whenever Sriram goes out for canvassing, YSRC activists have been deliberately provoking him. The opponents even plotted the murder of Sriram in Allakuntla village using bombs. Luckily, My son escaped it because of God's grace. Neither Sriram manhandled the police nor did he snatch the cellphone of a constable. Even the cops have been favoring YSRC in this issue though we have always respected them. YSRC leaders Prabhalar Reddy, Chandu and Rajasekhar Reddy have been behind this conspiracy," she alleges.

The TDP MLA from Raptadu Assembly segment warned the rivals that Paritala Group would retaliate if they continue to provoke them. She also claimed her victory in Raptadu is unstoppable no matter how many ways the opponents try to defeat her.
