dkc Posted May 2, 2014 Report Posted May 2, 2014 no need to generalize there too bro.....before british they were kings.....and british took them over and gave them away lands but they had to pay taxes...... pls remember that those land lords funded gandhiji heavily during quit india and other movements.... I'd respect them more if they had organized military assault on british. Why not generalize man? They contributed so they can reap fruits of independence later. Until today, whoever was high caste in early 1900s are still socially high in the ladder. It looks like their strategy worked. I understand that they did what they had to do protect their family, their caste people. But lets not praise them as if they sacrificed something. Anyway, I'm not talking of kings who were replaced by british. There were other land owners too. like ones who worked for british against Indian people.
