saami Posted May 4, 2014 Report Posted May 4, 2014 weblogic since its now oracle most of the companies are going for it already SOA and OSB is on it so go for WEBlogic Typically weblogic admin is much easy and development is also easy

It can be on oracle weblogic websphere , IBM, Redhat JBOSS , Apache open source etc. best bet is learning both.

AFDBphilosopher Posted May 4, 2014 Report Posted May 4, 2014 Don't learn both. App servers are not the future. Learn cloud platforms like Azure or AWS
jpismahatma Posted May 4, 2014 Report Posted May 4, 2014 Don't learn both. App servers are not the future. Learn cloud platforms like Azure or AWS http://www.itworld.com/cloud-computing/312635/cloud-or-not-cloud-horizontal-scaling-web-applications For small business/project it may workout. Big business/project may not go for clouds. Most of the companies don't trust/out source there datacenter/development out side. even if they do they might do it for small projects. Business is more important. Security cannot be compromised for saving some bucks etc... I am not really sure how can you compare Application server with cloud. Take any big company they will have most of there apps built on .net/java - Application Server/ERP- Oracle DB, DB2, SQL server- unix/windows - opensource DB Future of whole custom enterprise apps is application server/database. in some cases nosql DB

Take any big company they will have most of there apps built on .net/java - Application Server/ERP- Oracle DB, DB2, SQL server- unix/windows - opensource DB Future of whole custom enterprise apps is application server/database. in some cases nosql DB Currently there are lot of custom enterprise software built on app servers like weblogic, iis, websphere, tomcat etc. In future lot of it will move to the cloud. I was only suggesting a futuristic option. As enterprises adopt cloud, there will be lot of fledgling opportunities in the cloud. Lot of marketers from big guns like Oracle are trying to scare enterprises by citing security threats etc. But that is only a myth.

I was only suggesting a futuristic option. As enterprises adopt cloud, there will be lot of fledgling opportunities in the cloud. Lot of marketers from big guns like Oracle are trying to scare enterprises by citing security threats etc. But that is only a myth. what will move to cloud ?? hardware or software ?? did you mean to say application get migrated from weblogic/webshpere or whatever to cloud product what is that ??. who will take application migration cost ?? may be there are some companies using cloud and it is having good mkt/rate. for start ups small clients/projects who cannot afford upfront cloud is good option. but established companies maintaining datacenters may not go.. myth ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud_computing_security we already have seen target/rsa/openssl. alanthi dhi cloud provider ki kadhu ani guarantee ledhu. oka sarii security/data breach aithe cloud provider company muskoni vellipovali.. lot of lawsuit. it affect other clients too. again I say company clients should concentrate on there business/profits.not saving bucks compromising security. cloud is not cheap for heavy performing apps. over the period hosting in place is better than cloud.
kishoreN Posted May 4, 2014 Author Report Posted May 4, 2014 Thanks bhayyas. But evaraina weblogic admins unnara amana db lo..
