Analysis of Indians in US by some thop desi vendor employee and telugu hater:

 

Seriously, most of the posts here are FUNNY.

Quick Question-When you decided/got an opportunity to go to US, was the motivation poor infrastructure? Hell, No. Then why are you using that as a yardstick to return?

Having come back after 7+ years in US, I find many "categories" of desis in the US. Roughly trying to bucket them here-

A. The Software coolie (my category)-Get in US through a top IT services company/Paying a fly by night operator. Three sub-varieties 1.Stay there, make money and come back. 2. Leave Wipro/Infy/TCS/CTS/fly-by-night operator, join American company and do coolie work throughout life for GC 3. Wipro/Infy/TCS promote you, process your GC.

Here 2 will NEVER come back, 3 might come back, if they get a better job in India (my category). Once again, this decision is not made on Indian infrastructure.

B. The foreign student: Has come to US to do his masters using father's/father in law's money. These are the worst lot of Indians in US. Will stay like a roach during attending some 1 building college, then tag to a even worse job. These guys will NEVER come back, even if they are working in a gas station. No offence, but Telegus rule this category.

Once again, this decision is not made on Indian infrastructure.

C. The medical fraternity: Clearly, the second most affluent but most professional group. These folks come here after doing there MBBS in India and usually specialize in niche areas, make great money and are very well set in US. Decision to come back to India rests on whether they can open a hospital/nursing home in India and/or extreme family obligations. As per my interactions with people from this category, 90%+ will NOT come back to India.

Once again, this decision is not made on Indian infrastructure.

D. The Gujratis: Once again, no offence please. These guys will forge a visa/get a visa from family, come here, get help from family and open a gas station/convenience store/seedy motel/grocery store. Once they have something running, there is 0% chance of going back. I have deep appreciation as well as contempt for this group. Appreciation in their resolve, contempt for their means-nothing is off the cards here. The stories i have heard from my gas station Gujju owner friend (I stayed 7+ yrs at the same city) on what he(and his wife) did to keep on staying is BEYOND imagination.

Once again, this decision is not made on Indian infrastructure.

So, what did i miss? Does anyone come back just because "India will be ready for them" or because they have achieved what they came here for/thrown out/personal preference/greater opportunity back home?

Dude i am this category and a telugu i have 10s of friends who came back and do not generalize it/ it also depends on the family situation and way of life style
