Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday announced that two posts of deputy Chief Minister would be created, one each for Backward Classes (BCs) and Kapus after the party comes to power.
“A special package of Rs. 1,000 crore per year will be allocated for the welfare of the Kapu community. We will also categorise Kapus as BCs within six months and ensure that the interests of the existing BCs are protected,” Mr. Naidu said in a public meeting here.
During his whirlwind tour of Tondangi, Pithapuram and Samalkot on Saturday, Mr. Naidu promised that the interests of all sections of society would be protected under TDP’s rule.
“Don’t cast your vote to YSR Congress Party (YSRC) as its president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy lacks credibility. I am the only credible leader in the State and will fulfil all the poll promises without fail,” he said.
Holding YSRC and TRS responsible for the State bifurcation, Mr. Naidu said it was a conspiracy hatched by the Congress high command. He wondered why the UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi visited Seemandhra after dividing the State against the interests of the people.
Showering complements on actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan, Mr. Naidu advised the youngsters to take the hero as their role model and develop qualities like him.
Referring to TDP’s rebel candidate from Pithapuram S.V.S.N. Varma, Mr. Naidu said that he had not given ticket to him and advised people to not waste their votes by casting them to independents.
Mr. Naidu later participated in a series of election rallies in Palacol, Achanta, Nidadavole, Kovvuru and Chintalapudi Assembly segments in West Godavari district.
