TO HELL WITH MBA... Found this quite good .

But i am ready to take the blame......since i was never a believer in this sacred entity called MBA ......

Plz dont get me wrong ppl.....i m not ranting bcoz i failed to get calls.....(i have a few in my kitty and will hopefully convert one of them!) .....i m not desecrating the sanctity of MBA bcoz of my personal reasons.....the reasons are very generic.....probably as generic as the ans to the question - ' y mba' !!!

Ahem.....the big question - mr.....y the hell do u want an MBA degree?

The hypocritical ans - sir....from my very childhood i was good at organizing events......i was the school captain.....i organised my college festival....got sponsorships......and when i started to work i realised i m a good team player.....and that i loved to take up challenges.....i am excellent at the task of convincing ppl.....i love my company......but then at a stage i realised that i need something extra.....maybe a formal training in management......those financial skillsets.......that formal knowledge abt the business processes.....only an mba course can give me such an immense knowledge in a short span of two years.......hence MBA sir.......hence MBA sir......

Ok now the real ans - sir, to be honest......in my childhood....i had heard of neither engineering nor management......i was just worried abt taking wickets in the gully cricket match......then my parents introduced me to the concept of engineering......i tried my best.....and 'became' an engineer.......and i killed that cricketer.......in my final yr of engg i sat for all the companies untill one of them offered me a placement......so u c sir....even there i had no choice.......as i started to work i realised that i m a pathetic team player......that i cant tolerate the artifice of the ppl around....i found ppl who had sacrificed their dreams and accepted mediocrity as a way of life....i wanted to get out of it.....then i came across ppl preparing for MBA.....they told me its the only way out......and here i m sir....struggling to get rid of the monotony of job......and yes, money is a prime motivator here, for me.....and for every other candidate......at our age, its very natural !

After appearing in the intvs......my theory abt mba stands vindicated.......its abt deception......its more abt the way u speak than the way u think.....its more abt the way u fool others than the way u convince ppl........its more abt profits than abt ethics......its more abt drama and less abt action.....to sum it up - its just abt money!!!( i wonder how many applications will an mba insti get if it declares on its website – ( ' dear students, we have world class infrastructure, excellent faculty(all of them PHD from Harward), a very strong alumni network......but we dont offer placements....we just believe in imparting knowledge......thats our motto' )

In my opinion, an MBA degree just changes ur desktop to a laptop........teaches u how to make attractive presentations......helps u discover newer commands in excel......makes ur language deceptively mellifluous........makes u an insomniac who is ready to 'analyse' watever crap is given to him.....transforms a human being into a robot.......

In retrospect, the mba entrance exams put so much of pressure on u ......u slog like hell for CAT 200(x), only to realise that a slight miscalcualtion has ripped ur chances apart......and then u are all set for CAT 200(x+1)....what else can u do......u got no choice dude.....
CAT is unfair....but then so is life........we cant help it !

Neways......i can keep writing volumes abt this topic........just felt like starting a thread where we can discuss the futility of MBA.......and i m very much aware that i might be enlightened by a few ppl abt the positive aspects of MBA too (positives other than the placements plz )...... J

Plz dont get me wrong ppl........even i m aspiring to become yet another [email protected] .....lekin kabhi kabhi mere dil mein ye khayaal aata hai......"Y THE HELL MBA ?!!! "


Now let me start counting the no of bouquets and brickbats i receive for starting this blasphemous thread.....

I agree with u Mama. I always want to be one of those MBA because I thought or was told that was the only way out of this routine life. As I haven't started chasing that dream yet, I cannot comment but Can feel ur pain.  But isn't it the same with any kind of education? Profits rather than knowledge, who cares if u r doing good or not, all they care is how much ur paying to them and all u care is how much u r going to get.  So Chill, that's the way life treats u, unless u start taking control of the things.   cheers12w cheers12w cheers12w
