Rosaiah will visit the NTPC-BHEL Power Equipments Project site at Mannavaram Village, near Tirupati in Srikalahasthi Mandal, Chittoor District, tomorrow i.e. on 28-6-2010. The Chief Minister is inspecting the Project Site for which the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will lay Foundation stone on 10th July, 2010. The NTPC-BHEL Joint Venture Project will manufacture power projects equipments. It will be the first of its kind Green field industry for manufacturing power plant equipments with an investment of Rs.6,000 crores and proposed to provide direct employment 6,000 persons and indirect employment to 25,000--30,000 people. The Chief Minister paid glowing tributes to former Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy who strived hard to get the Project for A.P. Dr Rosaiah said this Project will be a boon for Andhra Pradesh, particularly for Rayalaseema region. The Chief Minister who returns to Hyderabad after completing his tour of Srikakulam and West Godavari on Sunday, 27-06-2010 will reach Tirupati at 13.40 hours on 28-06-2010 and after meeting officials and non-officials at the Airport will inspect proposed site where the Prime Minister will lay the Foundation Stone for the new International Airport and also the Public Meeting venue where Dr. Manmohan Singh will speak. As far as the new International Airport at Tirupati is concerned, the Chief Minister has already discussed the issue in detail with Union Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel who has assured full support to the Govt. of A.P. in this regard. The Tirupati International Airport is the cherished dream of lakhs of devotees not only from all parts of the country but also from all parts of the world. Later the Chief Minister will proceed to the Mannavaram along with Ministers and officials to give a final touch to the arrangements being made for the Prime Minister's visit there. The State Government has allotted 750 acres for the Project. The Joint Venture Company is ready to take immediate possession of the land and start construction of the Project. The State Government will also provide all the required infrastructure facilities like water, power, roads etc at the doorstep of the project site as per the industrial policy of the State Government. The Mannavaram Power Plant Equipment Manufacturing Project is a pride achievement of Andhra Pradesh Government and a dream project for the backward district of Chittoor. The Project is scheduled to be completed by 2013-14. The Chief Minister will also have a meeting with elected representatives and officials to review the arrangements for the proposed visit of the Prime Minister. He will also have the darsan of Lord Venkateswara at the Srivari temple before returning to Hyderabad. Talking with some senior officials today before leaving for the district tour, the CM said he is quite happy that Mannavaram Project has become a reality.
