Position Summary: We are looking for an individual who is highly experienced as a lead network engineer in a Linux environment related to online services. This person should have a background in managing all aspects of networking and architecture for large, scalable environments.Requirements: Work with the Director of Infrastructure and vendors to upgrade and architect our network on an ongoing basis. Develop ways to improve and grow the network to support growing business goals and traffic. Participate in an off-hours on-call rotation Supervisory Responsibilities: none. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong experience with: BGP, OSPF, Firewalls: stateful firewall traffic flow devices, Web Load Balancers, (Layer 7 switching) Excellent knowledge and comfort with packet captures Ability to work in a heterogeneous environment Development as needed in Perl, Bash/Shell scripting. Cisco Routing and Switching Strong experience with network troubleshooting; dealing with networks and protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, SMTP, and DNS; Strong background on use of code troubleshooting tools such as strace and gdb and network troubleshooting with tools such as tcpdump Strong detailed experience with network monitoring software configurations Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong self-starter who is a team player Desired Skills/Experience: 802.11, 802.1x Active Directory Cacti Rancid Riverbed/Cascade Pilot VMWare Citrix Netscaler Apache Varnish Perl, Python, Ruby Force10 Palo Alto Meraki IPS/IDS Minimum Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university highly preferred. 4 years of commensurate experience considered, and 2 years of professional work experience.Must be a US citizen or have green card to apply.
