Pilgrims frequent the temple seeking boons from Maa Mangala. There is a bed made of solid stone on which it is said Maa Mangala rests after touring the entire universe everyday. As if to attest to this, the bed looks worn out in just the same way it would if it were in use for centuries.

Sri Mukhalingam was also capital of Eastern Ganga kings of Kalinga (ancient Orissa). The temple of Srimukhalingam was built by Kamarnava II in 8th century AD of the Eastern Ganga dynasty. It is beautiful place located on the banks of River Vamsadhara.

BulletBaba Posted May 14, 2014 Author Report Posted May 14, 2014 Virupaksha temple in Pattadakal , karnataka Virupaksha temple is the largest and grandest of all temples in Pattadakal built in 8th Century, built by Queen Lokamahadevi (Trilokyamahadevi)in 745 to commemorate her husband's victory (Vikramaditya II) over the Pallavas of Kanchi. The Virupaksha temple is rich in sculptures like those of Lingodbhava, Nataraja, Ravananugraha and Ugranarasimha. Virupaksha is the earliest dated temple with the sukanasika, being closely followed by the Mallikarjuna temple.

It is situated 2 km away from Ambarnath (East) railway station in Maharastra, India. It is said that Shilahara king Chittaraja constructed it, his son Mummuni rebuilt it. The temple is on the bank of Vadavan (Waldhuni) river. The temple is Hemadpanthi-styled, beautifully carved on stones.

The central sikhara is octagonal, while the rest four are square. The walls are richly decorated with terracotta carvings featuring aspects of Lord Krishna’s life.
