: ప్రముఖ రచయిత్రి మల్లాది సుబ్బమ్మ(90) కన్నుమూశారు. మహిళాభ్యుదయంపై ఆమె అనేక రచనలు చేశారు. హేతువాదం, కాంతికిరణాలు, చీకటి వెలుగులు నవలలు రాశారు. 12 సంస్థలు స్థాపించి మహిళాభ్యుదయం కోసం ఆమె కృషి చేశారు. కుల నిర్మూలన, ఛాందస వ్యతిరేక పోరాటం, మూఢవిశ్వాస నిర్మూలన, స్త్రీ జనోద్ధరణ, కుటుంబ నియంత్రణ, స్త్రీ విద్య కోసం పాటు పడ్డారు.

మల్లాది సుబ్బమ్మ 1924 ఆగస్టు 2న గుంటూరు జిల్లా రేపల్లె తాలూకా పోతార్లంకలో జన్మించారు. బాపట్లకు చెందిన ఎం.వి.రామమూర్తిని ఆమె వివాహం చేసుకున్నారు. అత్తమామలు వ్యతిరేకించినప్పటికీ భర్త సహకారంతో పెళ్లైన తర్వాత ఉన్నత విద్యను అభ్యసించారు. 60పైగా రచనలు చేశారు. మల్లాది సుబ్బమ్మ మరణం పట్ల కవులు, రచయితలు సంతాపం ప్రకటించారు. మల్లాది సుబ్బమ్మ మరణం తీరని లోటని వైఎస్ఆర్ కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ అధ్యక్షుడు వైఎస్ జగన్ మోహన్ సంతాపం వ్యక్తం చేశారు.

While a lot of rich people spend enormous amounts of money on marriages and parties, well known social worker, writer and activist Malladi Subbamma donated Rs 36 lakh to University of Hyderabad. She donated to the University Department of Women Studies. Subbamma has already donated Rs 1 crore of her property to various educational institutions that are promoting women education.

On eve of Women's day, Subbamma made this donation to University of Hyderabad towards the construction of a building for department of women studies. She has written several books and articles on the need for women empowerment in Indian society.

In the year 2000, she donated all her property worth Rs 1 crore to a vocational college in Mehedipatnam. The then minister for education Mr Karnam Ramachandar Rao had named the college in Mehedipatnam after her name to honor her commitment to girl education.

University of Hyderabad thanked Malladi Subbamma for her gesture.
