Bhayya.. Total trip cost entha ayyindo cheppava..
If u dont mind, please break down the cost for flight, hotel etc.

Congrats :)

Dude,

Total trip cost ante it varies on where you booked accommodation (i.e. big hotel or a gated community) and how soon you booked flight tickets for travel.

  • Flight: In my case i booked 2-3 weeks before and flight cost ($730 to and fro) from San Francisco. The recommendation from many is to book the towards and return tickets separately and also making the return ticket fully refundable. so that in case of any delays you can cancel your return ticket and get full refund.
  • Hotel: i booked the one recommended by 'Liquor_Lunatic' which is a vacation house in a gated community and it turned out to be $75 per night for a room with 2 beds (and you can share it with another person). It is like a regular apartment with kitchen, Air conditioning and all basic amenities (like Internet, Cable etc.)
    • Some guys on this forum booked the big hotels (Linguane club or Pegasus or Knutsford hotel) but they are little bit expensive but works out fine if you can share with some others.
  • Food is not cheap here and so you can order from indian restaurants to deliver to home or walk to nearby restaurants.Always buy bottled water and don't experiment with tap water.
  • Cellphone we could not enable roaming on our cell phones before leaving USA and instead we used 'Talkatone' app on smart phones and then configured to forward US mobile numbers to this app before leaving USA. It is a very useful app that works with clear voice free of cost. (alternatively use Vonage extension on WIFI)
  • Weather  is very humid and hot and so plan for some light clothes and keep yourself hydrated always.

Some other guy asked in this thread about what questions were asked in my interview. Here we go

Vo: Good Morning
Me: Good Morning

Vo: Which Company are you working?
Me: ABC Company (tell the full name of the company)

Vo: What is your role?
Me: Give your role as in LCA

Vo: How long have you been working with this employer?
Me: Give the duration

Vo: So its a renewal?

Me: Yes

Vo: Can you see your latest W2?

Me: gave 2013 W2

Vo: Have you had any criminal record before?

Me: No

(Last question ki naa manasulo: Nee ayya "Balki Suman" kaadu ra nenu edho shaanthiyuthamga US lo pani chesukuntunnanu)

He looks into the system and asks me to provide finger prints and then hands over the Red slip and ask me to collect passport in 2 days.  He wished me to have a great stay in Jamaica

Anyone else if you want any more information please send me a PM.
