He handed over his resignation to Gujarat Governor Kamla Beniwal after he was felicitated during a special session of the Gujarat Chief. All eyes are now on who will be the new Chief Minister of Gujarat after Modi. Sources say that Gujarat Revenue Minister Anandiben Patel's name has been cleared by Modi and that it's just a matter of formality before her name is announced. Anandeben Patel is considered to be a close aide of Modi and has been a long-standing minister in the Gujarat government. If appointed, she will be the state's first woman chief minister. At a farewell speech for Modi on Wednesday, Anandiben said Gujarat was proud to have a son of the soil become the Prime Minister. The Gujarat Cabinet along with the new Chief Minister will be sworn in post noon on Thursday. Finally Guj Congress got what it needed...Modi out of Gujarat....
