A medium-intensity earthquake rocked eastern parts of India, including West Bengal and Assam, on Monday evening, with tremors being felt up to New Delhi and NCR region.

Though the damage caused by the quake is yet to be ascertained, reports said that the intensity of earthquake was 5.6 on the Richter scale, with its epicentre in the Bay of Bengal.

No tsunami alert has been issued.

 

 

 

A magnitude 5.8 earthquake rattled eastern Indian on Wednesday night. The epicentre of the earthquake is said to be in the Bay of Bengal. No tsunami alert has been issued.

There are no reports of damage as of now.

Tremors were felt in Bihar's Gaya, Patna, Ranchi, Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar,Vishakhapatnam. Tamil Nadu capital Chennai was also rattled by the earthquake.
