jpismahatma Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 Seems the hard work and dedication of seemandhra CM designate Chandrababu was paid-off.Chandrababu recently visits Delhi and conducts series of meetings with BJP leaders. During his visit, Naidu held a series of meetings with several ministers for requirements for residual Andhra Pradesh. He even met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and demanded special category status for the residual state.The Chief Minister-designate said he had sought incentives and financial assistance to bring both the states, Seemandhra and Telangana. NDA Government on Tuesday granted Special Category Status to residuary Andhra Pradesh for the next 5 years with effect from June 8th, 2014. The Planning Commission will officially announce this decision in few days. Benefits of Special Category status: 1) Flow of funds in big scale 2) Tax Holidays to Industries 3) Excise Duty concessions 4) 30% of Centre's budget support for Plan Expenditure 5) 90% of Plan Assistance as Grants and only 10% in the form of Loans. Though the UPA government promised it, sources say, the special category status requires discussion in the Planning Commission followed by the National Development Council.The proposal includes a six-point development package, comprising tax and industrial incentives as offered to Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh The people here believe they are getting a raw deal in the split. "There is no capital, no infrastructure, no institutions in Seemandhra," Chandrababu Naidu chief of the Telugu Desam Party said earlier this week after seeking central help for the state.According to source Mr. Naidu has impressed upon the Centre to fulfil all its commitments with regard to special package to the State. finally one good news to SA. I am happy.

Babu...asalu center full scale lo oka newly formed state ke funds ichinattu charitra lo vundhaa.....special status should be there for minimum of 10 years with chance of extension.....5 years lo 3 years planning finalisation ke pothadi.....10 years oka better picture vasthadi.........deeni valla TG lo pette investors.....

You are right on the money here. Also 5 years way too less a time to motivate any industry to set up place as well. By the time logistics are cleared on both the govt's end and the industry's end, you are already knocking on status expirty. Yedho ochchindhi ana santosham anthein .10 years osthein bagundedhi.
