Nearly 24 students, including 6 girl students and College Manager Kiran, from VNR Vignan Jyothi Engineering college in Hyderabad are feared to have been washed away in Beas river near Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. Six of them are girls. The tragic incident occurred at around 6.30 pm on Sunday when the students, who were on their way to Kulu Manali, stopped at the river side to click pictures. 

There was a sudden release of water from the Largi dam on the river in which the students are feared to have been swept away. Rescue operations are on.
