Rapp-Chikk Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 US Consulate to upgrade facilities - temporarily reduce the number of appointmentsBeginning the first week of May 2010, the U.S. Consulate General in Hyderabad will upgrade the facility to accommodate the increasing demand for consular services. During this period, which is expected to last six weeks, the Consular Section will temporarily reduce the number of appointments available to both American citizens and visa applicants. This period of refurbishment is unavoidable as the existing configuration is inadequate to meet the growing demand for services from both American citizens and visa applicants in Andhra Pradesh.Applicants with urgent travel needs during this period of limited consular services can apply for visas at the U.S. Consulate General in Chennai or other U.S. consular sections throughout India. Emergency services for American citizens will not be affected during this period. On Saturdays, April 10 and May 1, American Citizen Services will also have appointments available between 9 a.m. – 12 noon and 1 p.m - 4 p.m. for passports, Consular Report of Birth Abroad, and notarials. Please complete your forms online first at https://pptform.state.gov and bring the printed application and all required documents to your appointments. Details about required information and links to all forms are found on our website at www.hyderabad.usconsulate.
