Residents Of Kullu Speak Out On The Tragedy On Baes River

I am resident of Kullu and as far as I know hooters are sounded everytime water is released from any of the dams here. The tourists were warned by the locals and told not to enter the water but the advice was compeltely neglected as the students saw that the water level at that time was only a few feet deep. As far as partha's views about urgency to release waters , do u know the max capacity of a dam ? i dont think so . do you know if a dam breaks due to large vol of waters ( whiuch hapns in summers because of melting up of snow at higher reaches) , an entire town can be wiped off. i Agree more precautions should be taken by the project authorities regarding the same and the tourists too should listen to the locals and not merely wave off their suggestions. Really feel bad about the incidence and the lost lives.
