U don't have to write mapreduce.. hive and pig they generate mapreduce when you run them.. mapreduce chaala rare ga rastharu.. appudappudu we have to write UDFs for hive and pig daniki java ravali koncham
And engineers asalu mapreduce lu raayaru..

Unix light ga ochu.. Pig intermediate level.. HDFS kooda basics telusu.. using IBM infosphere biginsights.. Hive and NoSQL telidu.. naadi SQL background so should be an easy transition.. I think menu right track lo vunna..
