1.5 hrs layover is too risky. heathrow airport is very confusing. your baggage may get delayed. if your flight from india gets delayed by an hour, you will miss your connecting flight and may have to spend several hours in the airport until the next flight. they wont provide any facilities.

 

valid f1 visa is fine, you dont need a transit visa. they might check your i-20.

Nope Dont do that. 1.5 hrs too risky. I know LHR in and out and been through many times. can you post the terminal numbers or your trip plan so that I can suggest you more aptly ?
