He said Vizag occupied eighth rank in GDP contribution among leading cities of the country in 2013 by contributing $26 billion. With several mega projects in the pipeline, the city was poised to make a giant leap forward.

CII has prepared a 10-point agenda for promoting Brand Vizag, which include investments in health care, higher education, infrastructure and industrial corridors, growth centres and anchor industries, lesser taxation and other benefits by introducing Goods Service Tax, supply of 24x7 power, giving a boost to manufacturing and tourism sector, offer special incentives in IT and ITES and fast-track construction of Polavaram and other projects to put an end to water woes.

CII wants the government to pay special attention to address issues affecting growth and development of industry in Visakhapatnam region.

“Our focus is to showcase the areas which needed support and incentives to give momentum for growth. We in CII are confident of making Visakhapatnam a leading destination of the country for the investors,” he said.
