ravana Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 It was widely believed in the media and otherwise that the first ever cabinet meeting of the Union Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi did discuss the Polavaram Ordinance and sent it to the President of India for his assent. In the Press meet after the cabinet meeting, Ravi Shankar Prasad (Communications and Information Technology,Law and Justice Minister) unequivocally denied discussing the polavaram ordinance (amendment to the AP Reorganization act). He said that the issue was not part of the cabinet agenda and there was no discussion about it. You can watch the press meet here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_Qt6l0XFRk We all know that the President then promulgated the ordinance. A RTI application was filed with the Cabinet Secretariat asking for a copy of the agenda of the Cabinet Meeting on the 27th and the 29th. The reply from the cabinet secretariat clearly shows that the polavaram ordinance (amendment to the AP Reorganization act) was indeed part of the cabinet agenda (Number 4 in the agenda) and was also discussed. Just want to share the truth. akkada agenda lo andhra pradesh reorganisation act annaru kani danilo polavaram gurinche discuss chesaru ani ela cheppagalav brother
